The objectives of the ICM Level 5 Diploma in the Psychological Principles of Counselling are to:

  • Provide Learners with knowledge and understanding of the application of counselling psychology theories to everyday life.
  • Provide the knowledge and understanding essential for Learners to progress onto other counselling qualifications and subsequently a career in counselling.
  • Provide opportunities for Learners to understand the techniques and personal attributes that effective counsellors require.

ICM Level 5 Diploma in the Psychological Principles of Counselling

Counselling Concepts

Understanding the Practice of Counselling

Psychology of Human Behaviour for Counselling

Dynamics of Gender, Culture and Group Counselling

Workplace Counselling


Any of the above 5 units can be taken as a standalone Single Subject Certificate.


Exams are written in March, June, September, and December of every year.
